PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique is in ‘regular contact’ with Aaron Ramsey’s agency over a January move for between €10m and €20m, according to reports in France.
L’Equipe (via GFFN) reported on Thursday morning that Henrique has been in contact with Ramsey’s agent and Arsenal over the possibility of an outright transfer in January. They believe they’d only have to pay between €10m and €20m to complete the deal, considering the player’s contract situation.
Strangely, PSG are reportedly only offering an 18-month contract, which seems rather short considering Ramsey’s age. However, perhaps they’re concerned about the midfielder’s injury record, and they don’t want to offer him a longer deal until he’s proven he can stay fit.
The generally-reliable Di Marzio reported on PSG’s interest in Ramsey last week, though they added in their article that the player himself wasn’t too keen on moving to Paris. It’s not exactly clear why though, as it would keep him just a couple of hours away from London by train, which might be appealing given his young family are settled in the city.
Di Marzio also claimed that Juventus and Inter Milan are very interested in the Arsenal midfielder. However, Inter don’t feel they can afford Ramsey’s wage demands, which are even higher than the offer they’ve made to star striker Mauro Icardi. According to the Italian outlet, Juventus are therefore the 28-year-old’s most likely destination.
We’ll have to wait and see where Ramsey ends up next year, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be in North London for very long.
