Arsenal were held to a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, in a disappointing result despite coming back from behind late on.

There’s no denying that things could have been much worse in the end. Bernd Leno’s heroics first kept Arsenal in the game, then prevented Wolves regaining the lead in the latter stages.

However, in truth, those chances only came about as the Gunners threw everyone forward in search of a winner. Wolves created very little before the last 10 minutes.

The problem was that Arsenal conceded a soft goal and then couldn’t break their opponents down for most of the 90 minutes, not that they conceded a couple of chances at the end.

Let’s have a look at our individual player ratings for the match.

4Substitutes

Matteo Guendouzi 6

Guendouzi did a fairly solid job coming on in the second half. His main influence was purely in allowing Arsenal to play a different system, and he didn’t do anything too flashy in possession. Perhaps he could’ve done more to protect the defence from counter attacks late on, but he wasn’t the only one.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan 6.5

You can call Mkhitaryan’s goal ‘luck’ if you like, but he put a really dangerous ball in and there’s always a chance a cross like that ends up in the net. Whether he meant it or not, he made the difference and won Arsenal a point. On the other side of things, that was his only cross that caused any problems, with the rest failing to find their targets.

Aaron Ramsey 6

If Mkhitaryan’s goal was lucky, the fact Ramsey got an assist for it was even luckier. I’m sure he’ll take it though. At least he wasn’t trying bizarre flicks like on Thursday, and this was a more solid cameo, even if it wasn’t particularly impressive.
