Ricardo Rodriguez wants to stay with AC Milan, despite interest from Arsenal and PSG, according to reports in Italy.
Di Marzio write that a Rodriguez departure from Milan is now ‘unlikely’, as the full-back wants to stay in Milan. His decision is to remain with his current club, as he’s excited to take part in their new project under new management.
We reported yesterday on the Daily Mail rumours that Arsenal were looking at Rodriguez to fill the gap in the team created by Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac’s injury problems.
Monreal picked up a knock keeping him out of the pre-season games last week, meaning he hasn’t played a single game in the build up to the new campaign. Meanwhile, Kolasinac also fell injured last Wednesday against Chelsea, and won’t return for another 8-10 weeks.
However, the Daily Mail did also report at the time that AC Milan weren’t keen on selling. If they don’t want to lose the player, the player doesn’t want to leave, and he still has three years left on his contract, then describing the transfer as ‘unlikely’ is an understatement.
It looks like Arsenal will have to look elsewhere if they want another left-back, but the most probable solution now is Ainsley Maitland-Niles filling in.
