Bayern Munich’s official Twitter account seems to love trolling Arsenal so when the Bundesliga giants were about to play Besiktas in the Champions League on Tuesday, they just couldn’t help themselves.

Bayern are obviously at a loose end this season. For the first time in around 80 years, they’re not getting the chance to humiliate Arsenal because Arsene Wenger’s side failed to qualify for the Champions League.

For the moment, the German giants are having to make do with pummeling Besiktas instead, who they beat 5-0 on Tuesday night.

Ahead of the match, Bayern’s Twitter account posted about how much they’ve missed the Champions League theme tune, which most fans will agree is pretty epic.

However, one person replied that the Europa League opening music is better and Bayern’s account playfully asked: “Are you an Arsenal fan?”

For the record, he’s not, he’s actually a Celtic fan.

The response to the fan was obviously meant in good fun – it had a winking emoji after all.

This wasn’t the first time Bayern’s Twitter account has trolled Arsenal. The Bundesliga champions did beat Arsenal 10-2 on aggregate last season so they kind of have a right to.

After beating Arsenal 5-1 for the second time in March 2017, they posted:

Among other digs:

To be fair, Arsenal don’t make it any easier on themselves. Losing 10-2 on aggregate was ridiculous and it’s not a result the team can just shake off.

On a cheerier note, I enjoy the banter between clubs on Twitter. It keeps a sport, which is supposed to be fun after all, light-hearted.
