Arsenal somehow managed to earn a point against Liverpool despite being 2-0 down at half-time but did we actually learn anything?

Arsenal’s first half against Liverpool was nothing short of shambolic. The Gunners were 2-0 down at the break and while we knew we had it ‘all to play for’ in the second half not many people actually thought we could bounce back.

It’s nice to be wrong sometimes.

Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Granit Xhaka, who were both poor apart from this, and Mesut Ozil managed to put Arsenal ahead 3-2 within minutes. Although Roberto Firmino netted a second later in the second half, we earned a well-fought point when no one thought we could.

However, we still have such a long way to go and we can’t just sweep that first half performance under the carpet.

Here’s six things we learned from Arsenal’s roller coaster clash against Liverpool.

Gooners are sick of Alexis Sanchez

Whether he’s getting dispossessed, just losing the ball, insisting on taking corners that don’t clear the first man, holding onto the ball before skying it, or throwing tantrums at his teammates for stuff that he’s done wrong – Arsenal fans are sick and tired of Alexis’ s**t.

The fact that he scored against Liverpool doesn’t matter. In fact it makes it worse because it shows how brilliant he can be when he actually gets his head – quite literally – in the game. Why doesn’t he do this all the time? All players have off games but off SEASONS?

Sure enough, he also lost the ball that led to Roberto Firmino’s second goal.
