Barcelona will offer Arda Turan in exchange for Mesut Ozil, according to the Daily Star.

Barcelona hope that offering Arda Turan will convince Arsenal to part with Mesut Ozil in January.

That’s according to the Daily Star in yet another of their highly regarded exclusives.

This seems to be a case of taking two separate transfers stories and sticking them together to create one giant rubbish transfer rumour.

Turan has been linked with Arsenal for years. For some reason, outlets love to link him with us despite the fact we’ve never made a move for him.

He’s 30, can’t get a single game at Barcelona and has been linked with a move to Turkey. There’s little reason why Arsenal would want him.

Ozil exit rumours have become more popular this season.

Barcelona have been linked, but Spanish journalist Guillem Balague said that they’re not interested.

The Star’s rationale is that Turan would convince Arsenal to lower their £30m asking price for Ozil, as if such an amount would be a problem for Barcelona.

They then mention that Ozil’s wage demands could put Barcelona off.

Overall, it sounds like Barcelona really don’t want him if they are offering Arsenal average players and don’t want to meet his wage demands.
