Alexis Sanchez is clearly upset that his deadline day move has fallen through, and doesn’t want to play for Arsenal again, according to reports.

According to a report by Sam Lee & Chris Wheatley of Goal, Alexis made his feelings on playing for Arsenal again clear before the deadline day bid by City fell apart. They also report that Alexis is unlikely to actually carry out a threat to strike, but that City have promised to come back again as soon as possible in January.

The Goal article also quotes Alexis’ agent Fernando Felicevich as saying he would “not forget” the way that Arsenal dealt with the situation.

However, others have questioned why all the blame seems to be leveled at Arsenal so far. John Cross posted on Twitter that Arsenal were left surprised that City had left it so late to make a move for the player.

Knowing that Arsenal would need time to line up a replacement, and yet leaving your bid until the very last minute anyway, doesn’t give off the impression that you really wanted to sign the player. It feels more like you just wanted to unsettle him, knowing you probably wouldn’t be able to get a deal done.

Bleacherreport.com claim that Alexis Sanchez is ‘devastated’ at the whole situation, so if that was Manchester City’s plan, it clearly worked.

He’ll need to compose himself for Chile’s second World Cup qualifier of the international break on Tuesday, and Arsenal’s game against Bournemouth the following weekend. Reports from Chile claim he was very much a distracted man as his side lost 3-0 to Paraguay at home. They are also blaming Arsenal, but the press in Chile don’t really like Arsenal anyway.
