Wojciech Szczesny is reportedly set to arrive at Juventus ‘next week’ for talks over a move.

Szczesny is set to travel to Italy next week to kick-start negotiations over a move to Juventus, according to Di Marzio.

Although, the press have led us to believe that these talks have been ongoing for a while, with reports claiming that the 27-year-old has been ‘on the verge’ of signing for the Old Lady for weeks.

Arsenal are allegedly demanding £13m, which Juve were recently said to only be willing to meet halfway after making an initial derisory offer of £4m.

It does appear, however, that the Italians have agreed to up their bid after their second long-term option, 18-year-old Gianluigi ‘Gigi’ Donnarumma, signed a contract extension with AC Milan.

story trackerThe move, which will see Woj sit on the bench behind Gianluigi Buffon while the 39-year-old runs down his contract with the Serie A club, is an odd one and the deal is still baffling most Gooners who had convinced themselves, with good reason, that the Poland international was the club’s future #1.

While the deal does appear to be going ahead, whether it will actually go ahead next week or whether it’ll continue to rattle on at a snail’s pace as it has been remains to be seen.
