Wojciech Szczęsny looks to be on his way out of Arsenal after being left out of their pre-season tour of Australia and Arsenal fans are not happy.

With the Gunners heading out to Sydney, the 25-man squad for the tour was announced on Arsenal’s official website. A mix of new signings, first-teamers and youth players made the list, but more interesting to the Arsenal fans were the players that didn’t make the flight.

Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy, Kieran Gibbs, Lucas Perez and Chuba Akpom were all in pre-season training earlier in the week, but weren’t included in the 25. This increased speculation that all of them would be among those leaving the club this summer.

But Wojciech Szczęsny’s absence was perhaps the most surprising to Gunners fans. Although he hadn’t been included in the pre-season training earlier in the week, neither had players like Olivier Giroud and Granit Xhaka, after their international matches. Now both are back but Wojciech isn’t.

Below is a selection of some of the responses to the news, as compiled in an article by Football.London:

Heavily linked with a move away from the club, Szczęsny had one of his best seasons on loan at Roma last year. Arsenal fans were therefore understandably disappointed to hear about his exclusion. Ospina is still earmarked for an exit, so without any new signings, the goalkeeping options start to seem thin.
