Barcelona seem to have confirmed Rafinha’s imminent departure by handing his shirt number to Nelson Semedo for their USA tour.

On Friday it was claimed that the midfielder had been offered to Arsenal this summer and that Arsenal were interested in signing him.

Now, with the release of their squad for the tour, what seemed like speculation could be solidifying somewhat.

Rafinha wore the number 12 shirt last season for the club.

Not only has he seemingly lost the number, he is not included in the squad.

With a pass accuracy of 93% last season across his 18 La Liga appearances, he certainly has the quality to make an impact at Arsenal.

That being said, he is currently sidelined with a knee injury and, perhaps as a demonstration of his Arsenal DNA, is suffering his fifth injury of the season.

Speaking last month, Rafinha told Spanish daily Marca: “My future is open to all possibilities and is in the hands of God.

“I am a Barcelona player and the most important thing is to recover from my injury, then we will see what will happen.

“What I can say is that there are no certainties, and that everything is open.”

Back in March, Arsenal reportedly made their interest known in the player while earlier this month he was described as ‘desperate’ to leave Barcelona.
