According to the Daily Mail, Ronald Koeman is growing increasingly confident of signing Feyenoord wonderkid, Joshua Zirkzee.
The 16-year-old striker, who is supposedly also being watched by Arsenal and Manchester United, scored 33 goals in 27 appearances last season – an impressive tally.
While Zirkzee would be a strong addition for the future, for the here and now, Everton are still allegedly confident of bringing Giroud on board.
Dortmund are reportedly set to keep hold of star striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and therefore won’t be looking to sign Giroud as a replacement this summer. This puts Everton, who have been linked with the France international for a couple of weeks, back in pole position to sign him.
Arsenal allegedly want £20m for the big guy, which the Toffees have available considering they’ve only just sold Romelu Lukaku for £75m+ to Manchester United.
The target man is unsure of his future at Arsenal since they signed Alexandre Lacazette for a club record of £52m. If he struggled for game time last season, he could have fallen even further down the pecking order with the addition of his compatriot.
West Ham and Marseille have also been linked.
