Arsenal have landed in China and wasted no time getting stuck in to a bunch of weird pre-season duties.
- Who will Arsenal play in preseason, when and where?
- Arsenal travel further than any Premier League club in preseason
- Arsenal announce 25-man squad for pre-season tour
Since most of pre-season is about PR, every year the Arsenal players are asked to do weird stuff that you can’t help but imagine must make them think, “I didn’t sign up for this s**t”.
After the Gunners visited Sydney for the first time in 40 years where they faced Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers, they flew to China where they’ll play Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
The players and staff were greeted with a rapturous reception when they landed at the airport, which you can see in the video above.
Around the same time, Arsenal’s official Facebook page dropped a video obviously filmed well in advance of several players, including Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, rowing a boat.
Mesut in particular seemed to take the role pretty seriously.
Six first team players, including Alexandre Lacazette, were also roped into kung fu lessons at a massive fan party.
Meanwhile, Olivier Giroud, Mohamed Elneny and Laurent Koscielny went to taste some tea.
It’s good to see the lads getting stuck in.
Arsenal face Bayern on Wednesday at 12:20pm and Chelsea on Saturday 22 July at 12:40pm.
