Arsenal are yet to make a formal offer for Napoli midfielder Jorginho, but his agent Joao Santos has already revealed that the 25-year-old could leave for the right move this summer.

Jorginho, who is predominantly a defensive-minded midfielder, has impressed in Serie A to date with both Hellas Verona and Napoli. He’s made over 100 appearances in Italy’s top tier and has continued to develop his abilities with experience.

The Brazilian-born Italy international has been previously linked with a potential Premier League switch in seasons gone by and Arsenal have reportedly thought about making an attempt to sign him in the past.

Seen as an upgrade on both Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny, Jorginho could be another shrewd acquisition in north London but his agent has already refuted claims Arsenal have seen a £15m offer rejected.

When questioned, Santos told Radio CRC the following: “Arsenal? No-one has contacted me. Jorginho is fine in Naples, it is obvious that some managers have taken an interest in him, but my client has only Napoli in the sights for this year, and his goal is to do better than last year.

There is no release clause in his contract. If there comes a club with so much money and (Napoli president Aurelio) De Laurentiis is interested in the figure offered, [he] will sell him.

This is similar news to that of Jorginho’s current team-mate, Elseid Hysaj.

The highly-rated 23-year-old fullback had been linked with a possible Premier League move and his agent effectively admitted he has a pricey release clause, but one that no interested suitors are prepared to pay at present.
