According to his agent, Napoli fullback Elseid Hysaj, will consider leaving if a club meets his release clause.

  • Arsenal linked with full-back as back-up to Hector Bellerin
  • Napoli paid £4.25m for Hysaj in 2015
  • Player is under contract until 2021

The 23-year-old Albanian, who joined from Empoli two seasons ago, has asserted himself as a mainstay within the Napoli backline.

Maurizio Sarri persuaded the right-back to join him at the Partenopei and it’s likely he’ll try to ensure he ignores any advances from other clubs. Having previously spent three years working together at Empoli, it’s a situation that is likely to unfold in the coming months.

Hysaj’s agent, Mario Giuffredi, revealed that his client is attracting interest from a range of sides. Arsenal and London rivals, Chelsea, are just two clubs that have been linked.

Giuffredi had this to say, when questioned by Italian radio station, Crc,: “There are several scouts who have come to view him, representing German and English interest.

But we have no need to leave Napoli. Elseid is in his second season and I think he can do well next term as well,” he continued.

Hysaj has made 38 appearances in all competitions this season and his consistency has underlined his importance to the team. Only José Callejon, goalkeeper Pepe Reina, and captain Marek Hamsik have played more minutes in total.

Hysaj’s agent did reveal the fact that there is a release clause in his contract. The fee is believed to be around €50million and he said, “if a club arrives that is intent on paying it, the player could leave.

“We’d keep Napoli fully in the loop on everything and wouldn’t take any other paths without informing the club first.
