The BBC’s David Ornstein, A.K.A. the Ornacle has confirmed that Arsene Wenger has indeed signed a new two-year deal with Arsenal and revealed that it may not be his last.
- Wenger deal agreed, announcement tomorrow (Wednesday)
- Kroenke wants to keep Gazidis happy as well as Wenger
- Ian Wright ‘terrified’ Wenger will walk away from Arsenal
- Wenger forgives fans for ‘disgraceful’ behaviour
Ornstein was eager to stress that Arsenal don’t necessarily see this as Wenger’s final contract with the club on Tuesday afternoon. Obviously, as they always claim, it depends how the next two years go but at this rate I’m pretty sure the Frenchman will just stay at the club forever.
Arsene Wenger today physically signed a new two-year contract (no break clause) to remain Arsenal manager until 2019, 23 years in total #AFC

Neither Arsenal nor Wenger see this definitely being his final contract – may be but equally might not. Depends what happens next 2yrs #AFC

Following his seventh FA Cup win against Chelsea on Saturday, Wenger had a meeting with majority shareholder, Stan Kroenke, to discuss his future, which was then revealed to the Arsenal board during their scheduled meeting on Tuesday.
The announcement, we expect, will happen at 1pm today (Wednesday).
