To say that Arsenal underperformed against Manchester United would be akin to saying water is a little bit wet.
Arsenal were awful, and it speaks volumes as to where Jose Mourinho’s teams have been recently that he hailed his side’s performances as ‘phenomenal’ on Saturday at Old Trafford.
Saved only by Olivier Giroud and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arsenal could have played at Old Trafford for another week with their starting XI and wouldn’t have managed to find a way through the United defence.
