Ah, a lazy Sunday where absolutely nothing happened apart from Joel Campbell leaving, fall-out from Leicester continuing, and some gossip.

The reports that we first covered early on Saturday morning which came from Portugal claiming that Joel Campbell was on his way to Sporting turned out to be 100% correct with the deal being announced on Sunday afternoon by both clubs. He says he’s gone there to ‘be a champion.’ Good for you.

We could get into the logic behind it, but I’m not entirely sure there is any beyond Arsene Wenger doesn’t like him.

Late on Saturday evening, Serge Gnabry’s Olympic journey came to an end with a silver medal as Germany were beaten by hosts Brazil on penalties. Wojciech Szczesny started for Roma as they won 4-0, Dan Crowley got a few minutes as Oxford United beat Peterborough and Jon Toral started for Granada who drew with Villarreal.

We turned our Player Focus on Laurent Koscielny and Granit Xhaka after their first starts of the season, rated the players after the game, and also realised that it is possible to learn new things while watching the same match for the thousandth time.

In gossip, Mustafi is edging closer, but we might also be after Davide Astori, a player who is apparently fantastic for 85 minutes in every game but also guaranteed to make a terrible mistake. Sounds perfect for us, really.

19 year-old Diogo Goncalves is being scouted while the press keep linking us for a move for the ridiculously priced Jose Gimenez whom Atletico Madrid have zero intention of selling anyway.

And that was about it, really.

Back tomorrow with updates first thing and throughout the day as we find and investigate.
