Is it “Arsenal get a point away to the champions” or “Arsenal lose two points away to a team trying not to be relegated”?

Hmm. Whatever you say, we did get a point which is more than in the first match. I personally expected a defeat, and woke up in a bad mood because of it.

What else can I say>

So, the team get an “okay, but should have done better” from me.

How did our players do?

Petr Cech – 7

Cech had a great match although he wasn’t properly tested (let’s be honest). He showed some tekkers against Vardy, again, and it didn’t make me feel nervous. There was that penalty call from Leicester but it wasn’t given, and I think it was a good decision.

Hector Bellerin – 7

Great match from Hector. Defended really well, with some amazing tackles, and was active up front as well. Even had one shot on goal, although slightly over. Keep it up!

Rob Holding – 6.5

Overall a good match for our young centre back. He needed some time to get into the match but did better in second half, although he got a yellow card. Plus, he didn’t cost £55m despite being English.

Laurent Koscielny – 8

Yes, I give this man an eight and you can say whatever you want.

Kos saved us more than once on Saturday. He was a great captain, with some amazing tackles and really bossing the defence. It was so great to have him back. No need to mention that penalty call, of course, it was a great tackle.

Nacho Monreal – 7.5

Oh Nacho, a great performance, just like Bellerin. Great defensively, involved in attacks, few poor passes or decisions. It’s good to have him in our team. For the thousandth time.

Francis Coquelin – 6.5

What to say of our boy Francis? Once again on the verge of red card for most of the match, and once again got 90 minutes despite most fans asking for him to be taken off.

And, again, he performed well, put in some great tackles when it was necessary and some foolish ones when it was not. Amazingly, WhoScored.com has him as MOTM, so he can’t be *that* bad, no?

Granit Xkaha – 6.5

Xhaka got his first start today, and Arsenal fans were very happy to see him. He was our top passer, with only Drinkwater having more (1!), and he looked good overall. You can see he needs more game time and he will only get better as time goes by. No yellow card as well!

Santi Cazorla – 6.5

I do love Santi very much, but he didn’t do much against Leicester. He looked good at some points, put in some good crosses and free kicks, but overall didn’t impress me and it was a good decision to take him off in the end. I do like him taking our corners more than Theo, though.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6.5

The Ox looked good and had some half-chances, even a shot on goal, but got lost in the second half and overall didn’t do much. Is preseason Ox gone?

Theo Walcott – 6.5

Again, did nothing. I checked stats for player influence at halftime and he was the least involved player. He had two, I can’t say shots, they were more passes to the keeper in the second half, and that’s it. He has to step up. A lot.

Alexis Sanchez – 6.5

This man is not a striker. Hard to rate him when he’s being played out of position, and still not on form. He’s struggling, easily our worst player today, but what do you expect when they lump it to him or he has to come to the halfway line to get the ball?

Mesut Özil – 7

Mesut came on and changed the game. He did very well and created a few chances, excited to see him start next match, hopefully.

Jack Wilshere – 6.5

Didn’t do much as a sub.

Olivier Giroud – 0

Too little time for Oli do do anything.
