Thierry Henry has tweeted about the news that broke today that Arsene Wenger had asked him to either give up his career as a pundit and focus on coaching our u18 squad, or leave. Henry has chosen the latter.
I’m not going to lie, I’m disappointed. Henry slating us at the weekends while picking up £4m-a-year from us during the week never sat right with me and it was ultimately what made Wenger force a decision.
Even if the reports are true that Henry offered to coach at London Colney for free, it would still be a conflict of interests and no matter how much potential Henry had as a coach or even future Arsenal manager, I have to side with Arsene on this one.
