Juventus have apparently bid £25m for Alexis Sanchez, which we’ve understandably turned down.
Juve have been after Alexis for a while now having reportedly made him their priority signing after selling Alvaro Morata back to Real Madrid. Although the chances of us selling him fullstop are slim-to-none, the Italians aren’t going to get anywhere if their first bid of £25m is anything to go by. Oh, you know, just about £10m less than we signed him from Barcelona.
Would we really sell him for less – far less – than we bought him when he’s one of our star players? No. Keep dreaming.
Juve probably already know this as, according to other reports, we’ve promptly turned the offer down (not for the first time, I might add). It’s far more likely that they’re testing the waters, trying to figure out if we can be swayed even a little bit so they know whether it’s actually worth returning with a larger sum or whether it’ll all just be a huge waste of time (fingers crossed for the latter).
Hopefully, rumours Alexis wants to leave Arsenal are unfounded because he’s staying, whether he likes it or not. Even if I have to fight Juve myself.
