Arsenal have ‘rebuffed’ Juventus’ approach for Alexis Sanchez in the most pointless transfer rumour of the summer (this week, anyway).
There was simply no way that Arsenal were going to sell Sanchez to anyone, in fact, they should be about ready to offer him a new deal and the days of having to sell big stars are long gone.
It was reported strongly that Juve were interested with certain shameless sites claiming Arsenal would sell him. Now, it is reported by the Mail (I know, I know) that Arsenal have turned down the approach.
Whatever you think of the Mail, and believe me, my option of it is not high, their sport section is pretty decent.
Besides, this is a baseless report that I want to believe, and that always helps, eh?
Alexis is under contract with Arsenal until 2018.
He scored 17 goals and grabbed 11 assists in 41 games last season and was recently voted Player of the Tournament at the Copa America which Chile won for the second year in a row, and the second time in their history.
They also forced Lionel Messi’s retirement from international football. Not a bad summer for them so far.
