Juventus are apparently still sniffing around after Alexis Sanchez despite reports claiming that they’d acknowledged he was ‘unreachable’ just days ago.

The Serie A side have made their intentions clear that they want our Chilean forward, who has only just won another Copa America tournament, as well as the Player of the Tournament award. At this stage, I think it’s pretty clear that their inquiries have been genuine and, after selling Alvaro Morata back to Real Madrid for £23m, they have a bit of money to spend and a gap in the first team to fill.

Days ago, people on Twitter reported that Juve had given up because Alexis was ‘unreachable’. However, when you dig into it, there doesn’t seem to be anything on the web confirming this other than Twitter hearsay.*

*Of course, if you have heard anything, just let us know @DailyCannon.

Juve are said to be willing to pay £37.2m, which would be disappointing considering we bought him for £35m. Add to this how important he is to our squad and I’d like to think we’d raise his value a little more… you know… actually make money.

Tuttosport are claiming that Alexis’ agent, Fernando Felicevich, is in contact with the Italian club and, to be honest, this isn’t that outlandish. I fully believe Juve want to buy our man and of course their first port of call would be his agent. The same publication also acknowledges that, given the Jamie Vardy deal fell through, actually persuading us to sell the 27-year-old would be a huge task.

Meanwhile, we’ve got former Juve star, Mauro Camoranesi, flapping his gums about what a great signing Alexis would be.

“I heard that it could be Alexis Sanchez,” the Italian said exclusively to Goal.

“He knows the Italian football.

“He has the speed to cause problems for opposition defences, he will be joining a team with a winning mentality and I think it can be a great opportunity for him and Juve could get more out of him.

“Alexis is a different player. You have already [Mario] Mandzukic and [Paulo] Dybala, and with Alexis they can make a stronger attack.”

Alexis is reportedly ‘intrigued’ by the interest.

I don’t like this. I don’t like this one bit.
