Juventus have reportedly made Alexis Sanchez their main priority this transfer window and I’m a little nervous to say the least.

The Serie A club lost their Spanish forward, Alvaro Morata, on Tuesday when Real Madrid activated their buy-back clause, thought to be in the region of £25m. Although they’re most likely going to sell him on in order to make a bit of cheeky cash, that’s not Juve’s concern and they’re already on the look-out for the 23-year-old’s replacement.

Somewhat annoyingly, Juve have set their sights on our Chilean, Alexis Sanchez. In fact, with Romelu Lukaku and Edinson Cavani being out of their price range, Sky Italia is claiming that they’re ready to make Alexis their priority.

I’m sure I can’t be the only Gooner who feels a little nervous about this link, purely because we’ve come to an agreement over a new deal yet and we probably won’t until much later in the summer, potentially opening us up to other teams’ advances.

On the other hand, would Juve meet his wages? According to the Daily Mail, Paul Pogba is their highest paid player and he earns around £3.3m a year. Alexis, on the other hand, reportedly earns £7m. Now, no matter how accurate these figures are, that’s quite a pay-cut, unless Juve are prepared to alter their wage structure drastically.

What’s more is that we bought Alexis for around £35m. If we were to sell him, you’d imagine we’d want to make a large profit considering how integral he is to the team. We don’t need the money so we could easily negotiate a sum upward of £40m. Would Juve be prepared to pay £45m, £50m, more? Especially when they only got £25m for Morata? I’m not so sure.
