Besiktas have become the latest club interested in signing Mathieu Debuchy according to reports in Turkey.

The player, who has made no secret of his desire to leave a club many forget he plays for, will be heading for the exit door this summer if a suitable price can be agreed.

A number of French clubs have been linked with him and it would seem that a move back to his homeland would be his preferred option, but he no doubt just really wants to play after a frustrating few seasons.

The Turkish paper, Sabah, reports that Besiktas are keen on a loan move for the right-back however Arsenal would no doubt prefer a permanent deal just to draw a line under the whole thing.

Besiktas, reportedly, would also include an option to buy in the loan deal. Debuchy’s Arsenal contract currently runs until 2019 after he was signed on a five-year deal from Newcastle.

Since then, he has made just 12 Premier League appearances for Arsenal after suffering a serious of unfortunate injuries.

His comments, about believing he would waltz straight back into the team despite how well Hector Bellerin was playing, soured his relationship with fans. He hasn’t done those relations any good with further statements.

Shame.

He could have been really good for the club, now he will be more than the answer to a pub quiz question or two,
