Jordan Nobbs has signed a new contract with Arsenal Ladies.
The midfielder, who has been a Gunner since 2010, has shown she’s happy to stay in north London after putting pen to paper on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old is a huge part of the team and the whole club are bound to be delighted with her decision, which is mostly down to Pedro Losa’s philosophy.
“As a player you have to like the manager and his philosophy, and that’s the main reason I signed,” she told Arsenal Player.
“The way I play, it fits into Pedro’s system and I really focus on what he says and what he does. As a player you want to believe in your manager and that’s one thing I definitely do.
“It was a big move and I had a lot of decisions to make when I first came to Arsenal. I had a lot of players I had to compete with [for places] and that made me a better player.
“Since I’ve been at Arsenal I’ve improved every year and it’s where I want to be. When you’re happy and playing football you’re going to play better. I don’t think I’d be such a major part of the England squad if Arsenal hadn’t have pushed me through that as well.
“You also need players pushing each other, like myself as well. I want to be pushed as a player as well to help me improve, so the more we have that in the team in training and in games, the more we will progress as a team and be better as a team.”
Nobbs has scored 21 goals in 53 appearances for Arsenal, as well as become Vice-Captain of the England team, so getting her to pledge her future to us is massive. And at such a young age, she’s a big investment for the future and a statement of intent for our current Ladies squad.
If you don’t believe me, just watch this absolute worldie that she scored during her England debut against Italy.
