Arsene Wenger said that the Stoke fans, when they hear themselves on TV after Sunday’s match, will hopefully not feel proud of the chants they aimed at Aaron Ramsey.
The Arsenal midfielder had his leg smashed to pieces when he was just a teenager by Ryan Shawcross and ever since then the Stoke fans have booed him when the two sides have played. They claim it is because the youngster refused to accept Shawcross’s apology but the truth is they are just a bunch of people who boo the injured.
If what they were saying was true, then they wouldn’t be glorifying the horrific injury by singing ‘Aaron Ramsey, he walks with a limp’ – and on Sunday they could be heard, very clearly, chanting this throughout the game.
Speaking after the game, Wenger was asked about the chant and he replied “Maybe when they go home and watch it on TV they are less proud.”
I wouldn’t count on it, Arsene, these are Stoke fans, they haven’t graduated past cave paintings to televisions yet.
Still trying to master fire, too.
