Petr Cech has encouraged his Arsenal teammates to pick themselves up after their controversial defeat away to Chelsea.

The match, which ended 2-0 thanks to goals from Zouma and Calum Chambers (OG), was a huge blow for our players.

During the first half we were looking promising and, even after we were down to 10 men, we were still putting up a fight. Our players ran their socks off, trying not to capitulate, even after going 1-0 down. However, the day was summed up ‘nicely’ by Cazorla getting a second yellow, reducing our team to just nine, and the ball bouncing off our own player into our net.

Despite the fact that the squad are probably feeling pretty dejected right now, Cech has urged our players to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and get ready for the next game.

“You have to pick yourselves up and continue,” Cech said. “That’s the only thing you can do because you don’t win or lose the league after five games. You need to carry on until the last minute of the campaign. Obviously we need to keep going.”

A knee injury to Coquelin and red cards for Gabriel and Cazorla leaves us down three men for our match against Spurs. However, all we can do is continue and give it our all. We can’t let this defeat to Chelsea derail our entire season. It’s too early to quit.
