Well, that wasn’t fun, and then it was.

In addition to our extensive pre-match coverage of the game, we got our writers together for a short prediction on how they think the game will pan out.

Here’s how that went

Lee Hurley Draw 1-1

Boom.

Helen Trantum Win 2-1

Well, I called the freeze up, luckily we thawed in the last 20 minutes and were within a goal line clearance and better finishing of bringing my prediction home.

Stephen Bradley Win 2-1

When I said I thought Arsenal would spend a lot of time in their own half, I didn’t think it would be as much as they were in the first half. The second brought some improvement, but our goal was a tad fortunate. Our form is starting to slip a bit, we need to sort that out before the cup final.

Paul Williams Draw 1-1

I did say 1-1, didn’t I? Not a great performance, but the result was more important I think. Only a disaster will now keep us out of the top three. We looked much better once Cazorla departed (it kills me to say) and will possibly feel we could have nicked it in the end. Still, after that first half, a point is more than welcome.

Sylvain Jamet Draw 1-1

I got the score right ! Pleased with that. Pleased with the point. Need to do the business now in the last two games

Lewis Ambrose Win 2-0

Not the 2-0 I’d hoped for. We weren’t set up to counter or to keep the ball and it was pretty poor all-round. When you play like that and take a point from Old Trafford I guess it’s not a bad day.

Nia Griffiths Draw 0-0

Although I predicted a draw, I hoped we would’ve played a lot better than that. Still, a point is a point and although we didn’t fully deserve it, at least they didn’t win, eh?

Mark Fine Draw 1-1

Got the score right, although I’d rather have the win. Only need two points to lock up third now. Bring on Sunderland!

Anita Sambol Win 1-0

I predicted 1-0, well that was optimistic! I always have this one as 100% loss, at the beginning of every season, so I’ll take this point, even more since it annoyed my boyfriend A LOT haha. Third is up for grabs, even second is possible, so just win next two matches and that’s it. Won’t talk about the performance, it wasn’t presentable but it hey, a point is a point. Last season we’d lose this.

Charlotte Marshall Draw 2-2

Got the result right, but frankly even the most pessimistic of my predictions would not have called that terrible first half. Too many players looked tired and hopefully we can shake that off before Sunderland on Wednesday.
