After Arsenal’s defeat on the south coast, Arsene Wenger was asked for his opinion on the fan who ran on to mock him.
As Arsenal self-destructed at St Mary’s on Thursday, one fan got himself a little excited (and probably a lifetime ban from all football) as he ran past the Arsenal dugout to shout something at Arsene Wenger or wave his arms or generally just act like a prat.
While Steve Bould was clearly riled and told the fan to f**k off, Wenger hardly twitched.
Speaking after the game, Wenger said
He was a young boy and I think he was a Southampton fan. He was not arrested at all. I don’t think he said anything. It was not aggressive at all.
Now. Just imagine that had happened to Jose Mourinho. Think his reaction would have been with same.
The fan was, however, arrested – and was actually an Arsenal fan who was sitting with the home fans which is surely a new low for our bunch of in-fighting supporters.
