Ivan Gazidis has finally made the decision to leave Arsenal and join Serie A side AC Milan, according to a report.

Arseblog News report that their sources have informed them Gazidis has agreed to move to Italy, leaving his role with the Gunners. In recent weeks it’s been looking more and more likely the 54-year-old would go, and now it seems it’s just a matter of time before we get confirmation from the club itself.

Last week AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni told the media they weren’t in any hurry to get the CEO situation sorted, but added “let’s say it will happen in a few weeks”. He refused to be drawn on Gazidis as a candidate specifically, but the fact he wouldn’t rule it out only fueled the rumours.

Recent reports suggest the Italian giants made Gazidis a €4m-a-year (£3.63m) offer to take charge of the club. That’s an increase of over £1m on his current deal with Arsenal. It looks like the offer has proved enough to convince the Gunners’ chief executive to take the job.

If all the reports are correct, it looks like Arsenal are in for a busy few weeks or months searching for a replacement. Hopefully it won’t have too much of an effect on other aspects of the club (contracts, commercial deals, etc.) in the meantime.
