Paris Saint-Germain have reported rejected a bid from Valencia for Goncalo Guedes, and have since raise the winger’s asking price due to his fine form this season.

Guedes is currently on loan at Valencia and is having a fine season.

The Spanish club attempted to turn his move into a permanent one in January, but have had a proposal rejected by his parent club, Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Telefoot, PSG are looking for £62m for the Portuguese amid interest from Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Guedes, who’s played predominantly on the left flank, has made major contributions to Valencia fine season so far. £62m would be way above what they would be capable of paying without making major sales first.

As he’s on a season-long loan, Arsenal would have to wait until the summer, risking his value getting even higher if they wanted to sign him. He’d be a good replacement for Alexis Sanchez, but the need to replace the Chilean is pressing.

It’d be a shame not to target such a talented player, but Arsenal need players now not several months down the line. The Gunners might not be too keen spending more than £60m on a largely unproven 21-year-old.

He would have to hit the ground running to convince supporters Arsene Wenger was right to make the pricey gamble.
