Arsenal have made another enquiry about the availability of Juan Cuadrado, according to reports in Italy.

As the January transfer window approaches, the Cuadrado to Arsenal rumours are starting up again with Raisport the latest to get in the act.

They claim (via Tuttojuve) that there’s been a new enquiry from the Gunners ahead of the January transfer window, and Juan may want to leave the club because he’s ‘disgruntled’ (along with Lichtsteiner and Sandro).

It’s certainly not the first time we’ve heard rumours linking the Colombian with Arsenal.

The gossip columns started reporting the story back in June, before Cuadrado had even joined Juventus on a permanent basis. When he did, the stories kept coming anyway, all the way until the end of the summer. Arsenal were also heavily linked before he moved to Chelsea in 2015.

When September came around, the Italian media finally admitted that there wasn’t much to the story, but with January less than a month away, they seem to have changed their tune again.

In fairness, Cuadrado’s form has improved in the current campaign, so there’s a bit more justification behind the links.

Last season he scored three goals and provided 10 assists in 45 matches, whereas this year he’s got four goals and five assists in 18. So he’s already beaten his goal tally, and is on target to do the same with assists as well before the season is out.

Nonetheless, history tells us we shouldn’t take these rumours too seriously, so I wouldn’t go out and get his name printed on your shirt just yet.
