Alexis Sanchez made a point to shake the hands of all of the youth players involved in first-team training as he arrived at London Colney.

The players took part in a training session on Tuesday morning ahead of Wednesday’s game against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup at the Emirates, reports the Metro.

The game is not being televised in the UK, meaning TV viewers will have to wait until 11.35pm to watch highlights on Channel 5.

Arsenal’s training session was streamed live on the club’s YouTube channel, and first to arrive were the youth players.

Among them were Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Marcus McGuane, Josh Dasilva and Joe Willock. Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who played against FC Köln last Thursday, also came along to get involved in the session not long after.

When Alexis Sanchez arrived (at 10:15 in the above video), he made sure to shake hands with each of the youth players, which hopefully should help them to feel welcome around the club’s first team.

I feel Reiss Nelson and Maitland-Niles should both feel confident of getting a start for the Gunners, especially since Arsenal seem to be marketing the game on Facebook as an opportunity to see the former in action.

However, the others could all be in with a chance as well I think. Eddie Nketiah, for example, has been in fantastic form for the youth teams up front. So far this year he has three goals and an assist in five u23 games, but he also managed 24 goals and 5 assists in 33 matches last season.

The u23 team is second in the Premier League 2 table at the moment, so most of the team is in form at the moment. We’ll have to wait until the team news is released on Wednesday to see who gets the opportunity.
