Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez is reportedly furious after his asking price was raised from £35m to £50m, leading to Arsenal turning their attentions elsewhere.

According to the Metro, Mahrez isn’t happy with Leicester City raising his valuation this summer, as no club is likely to come in for him ahead of the new season.

The Algerian international was believed to be for sale for around £35m but reports suggest City won’t accept less than £50m.

Arsenal were keen on Mahrez’s signature last summer after the 26-year-old won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year for helping Leicester City to an unlikely Premier League title.

He scored and created an impressive 28 goals in 36 league games in 2015/16, and agreed a deal with Leicester to sign a new deal if they let him go the following summer.

12 months later and Mahrez is still at Leicester and no side has made an approach. The winger is believed to be angered by City pricing him out of move, as Arsenal are now targeting AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.
