Wojciech Szczesny wants to move to Juventus and become the heir to Gianluigi Buffon.

  • Szczesny has agreed personal terms with Juventus
  • He’s happy to spend a year on the bench
  • Juventus yet to agree a fee with Arsenal

It seems that Szczesny has made his decision about his future. According to Calcio Mercato, Szczesny has agreed to join Juventus next season, even if it means spending a year on the bench. His deal with Arsenal is up next summer too but the Gunners aren’t too keen to extend it.

The plan is for Szczesny to be backup to Gianluigi Buffon before taking over when the legendary keeper retires next summer. There is already talk that he’s agreed a contract worth €4m a year, after he was reportedly informed by Arsenal he’d be allowed to leave.

Arsenal apparently have no plans on making Szczesny their new number one for next season, or even to keep him around as competition for Petr Cech. Juventus have yet to agree a fee with the Gunners, but movement should be made in the coming weeks.
