Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City is set to be this summer’s prolonged transfer sagas, so just what do City fans think about it?

  • There’s plenty of excitement about
  • Some disagree about how useful a signing he’d be
  • Some are experts on transfer dealings

Reports in England, Spain and Chile suggest Alexis’ move to Manchester City is only a matter of time before being officially announced, with manager Pep Guardiola desperate to sign the former Barcelona man..

Naturally, there’s a lot of buzz among City supporters around Alexis’ potential move to the Etihad, with some on Twitter telling the City account to “announce Sanchez”, while others are speculating how Arsenal will cope in his absence.

If Arsenal were to keep Sanchez until January, they wouldn’t be looking to sell him given how low his value would be due to his contract expiring in the summer. It also seems unlikely any side will match the £60m asking price.

A swap deal wouldn’t be a bad idea given Raheem Sterling – out-of-form at Manchester City – would be an upgrade on Alex Iwobi, Theo Walcott and Lucas Perez. City would likely rather just wait until 2018 to have Sanchez for free, rather than losing a useful player to sign him.

The highly-industrious Sanchez is believed to have been a transfer target for Pep all season. Considering the Chilean scored and created 34 goals in 38 Premier League games and is capable of playing up front, City definitely would find a place for him.
