Jean-Michael Aulas has confirmed he has received phone calls asking about Alexandre Lacazette, but reiterated his desire to keep him.

  • Aulas confirmed interest but wants Lacazette to stay at Lyon

Lacazette has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal yet again and, as always, Aulas has had plenty to say about it.

“We have a very strong relationship with Alexander,” he said.

“We are not going to do anything that could upset him, only if it was agreed in the beginning.

“We are in contact with the people who advise him and with some clubs that call us from time to time.”

The striker was due to join Atletico Madrid but the La Liga’s transfer ban prevented the move from going ahead.

This has given clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United the opportunity to try and sign him.

However, while there is definite interest, Aulas was keen to remind everyone that Lacazette leaving Lyon isn’t a certainty.

“We remind you that the departure of Lacazette is not final. We want to keep him, we need a quality team and he is part of it.”

Lacazette reportedly wanted to leave to play Champions League football, although other reports claimed he would be happy to play in the Europa League if he has to.

If he does end up leaving, you can be sure it’ll be for a huge price.
