OGC Nice midfielder Jean-Michaël Seri is reportedly on the move from Ligue 1 this summer, with Barcelona one of many clubs interested.

According to Nice Matin, the 25-year-old has been attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco and AS Roma.

The Ivory Coast international has expressed his ‘dream to join Barcelona’ on multiple occasions, and it appears the Catalan giants are keeping tabs on the goalscoring midfielder. Jean-Michaël Seri’s representatives have been in talks with Barcelona and the La Liga runners-up are now believed to be in the driving seat to secure his signature.

Seri made 39 appearances in all competitions for Nice this season, scoring and creating 16 goals. He’s described as a high-quality passer of the ball, capable of defence-splitting balls to make chances for his teammates and for speculative efforts from distance.

The midfielder’s main weaknesses are his defensive skills and lack of any aerial threat, due to his 168 cm height and lack of physical strength. Arsenal are said to be interested for the right price as they could be losing a number of players from the engine room in the summer.

He has a release clause of €40million which may be too lofty for Arsenal. But Barcelona are desperate for a midfielder who racks up goals and assists with how poor Andre Gomes has done at the Camp Nou this season.
