Arsenal are ‘set to move’ for Nottingham Forest’s £10m-rated teenager, Ben Brereton, according to reports in Sunday’s papers.

  • Striker one of 3 players nominated for Championship Apprentice of the Year
  • Brereton signed new deal with Forest in December

Thrown into the Forest side in January, the centre forward has scored three and grabbed two creative assists in his 781 minutes of Championship football this season so far. He scored 14 in 19 games for the u23s before his promotion.

Brereton signed for Forest from Stoke in the summer of 2015 after being released. He progressed to their u23s the following season. The teenager was moved into the senior squad in January this year and Forest are said to be ‘braced’ for bids of £10m or more from several clubs.

Speaking at the time of his latest deal, Brereton said, “I will keep working hard in the under-23 side, I will keep learning and hopefully I will get the chance to do what Joe Worrall and Matty Cash have done this season.

“I do look at them and think that if they can do it, maybe I can too. But the main thing is just to keep working hard and to see where that gets me. That is all I can do,” he said.
