Arsenal are apparently considering activating Dusan Tadic’s £13m release clause to bring him to the Emirates from St. Mary’s.

  • Tadic joined Southampton in 2014 for £11.9m
  • The Serbian is 28-years-old
  • He has 43 caps for his country and 12 goals

An inconsistent player, I’ve even seen some outlets covering this story claim he could be a replacement for Mesut Ozil – like that decision wouldn’t cause Arsenal fans to burn down the stadium. Or make any sense as he’s a winger.

Under contract until 2020, it all seems like a highly unlikely story ahead of a summer that needs Arsenal to make a real statement of intent should Arsene Wenger remain.

Buying Dusan Tadic does nothing but tell people we intend to stick with where we are.

Tadic has three goals and five assists in 23 Premier League appearances this season.

Overall, he has three goals and seven assists in 34 games.

Arsenal could probably sneak him into the club underneath some major signings, but even then, you’d have to wonder what he would bring to the club that isn’t there already.
