Bayern Munich will pay ‘over €8m’ for Serge Gnabry according to Kicker.

The player, who nobody wanted before he shone in Rio, is on his way to Germany despite his dad saying that he wished he would show more patience and stay at Arsenal.

The German publication seem to be the first to mention a fee for the player who only has one year left on his current contract.

Although it’s a fair fee, it’s certainly a disappointing one given today’s market and Serge’s potential and the work that Arsenal have put into not only developing him but also helping him recover from the knee injury that put him out of the game for over a year.

Gnabry joined Arsenal in 2011 and it was hoped that the club were letting Joel Campbell join Sporting on a season-long loan to make way in the squad for Gnabry.

Speaking recently, Wenger confirmed how much he wanted him to stay while also seeming to point out that the player owed the club.

“I want to keep Serge Gnabry and to extend his contract,” Wenger said. “We stood by him for a long time.

“We built his confidence when he came back and I allowed him to go to the Olympic Games without having played for us at all, to get him back to competition and to help Germany.

“He’s been here for a long-time and it’s important he stays with us.”

Gotta say, I’m disappointed in Serge.
