After Daily Cannon conducted a poll asking whether Arsene Wenger should stay or go, the results were unanimous.

A staggering 86% of the people who voted believe the boss should leave Arsenal after Sunday’s 2-1 loss at the Emirates to Watford.

If I’m honest, I’m not surprised the number is so high. In fact, I expected it to be around the 90% mark for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, we conducted the poll mere hours after the Hornets knocked us out of the FA Cup. Fans’ anger was at an all time high with rage spilling out onto the streets. Gooners were not happy. We had been on track to win our third FA Cup in a row – something no one has ever done – and we blew it against a team we’d previously beaten 3-0.

Fans were also sad. Sad because it does appear as if Wenger’s tenure is coming to an end but this isn’t how we wanted it to be.

Secondly, the angry fans are usually the most vocal. Particularly after a defeat. Therefore, they’re more likely to click that button and place their vote. If the poll was to be conducted after even a day later, I’m sure the results wouldn’t be quite so damning.

Nonetheless, the percentage is so high that I doubt a day would have made a difference. Arsenal fans have made themselves clear.
