Manchester United youngster Anthony Martial has once again been compared to Thierry Henry.

This time, it’s by Christian Damiano, the former Liverpool coach, and he reckons Martial could actually be sharper than the Arsenal legend.

Speaking recently, the Frenchman said, “Then, in their gait and their way of running, there are real similarities. Like Thierry, Martial has this slender, relaxed and fluid side of him. It’s so obvious as soon as you see him on the pitch.

“Martial is way more comfortable than Thierry in small spaces and even with his back to goal.”

As we’re all now well aware, comparisons are being draw left, right and centre between the £36m forward and our former player. However, few have been as bold as to claim that the youngster could actually be better.

It’s early days and it’s hard not to compare the two players considering their playing style. However, it’s also important to remember that they’re two different people and Martial is bound to develop his own style in time.

Will he be better than King Henry? Perhaps one day, although as a Gooner I’m going to say I doubt it. Despite Martial’s apparent superior explosiveness, Henry had longetivity and class until the end. It’s simply too early to judge but Henry had that special something that only comes around once in a blue moon.
