According to the Daily Mail, Alexis Sanchez could return as early as our match against Man City.

The forward, who picked up a hamstring injury against Norwich, has returned to his home country to get some much needed rest and relaxation in the sun.

Coach of the Chile national team, Jorge Sampaoli, confirmed, “We have contacted the medical team at Arsenal, who gave him a week of treatment in Chile.

“We have to see how it is [the injury] to know how quickly he can recover, but we are aware of everything and we’ll see if we can contribute to Alexis getting back on the pitch sooner.”

The injury is reportedly not as bad as we initially thought and Alexis could return within a few weeks, rather than the six that was originally predicted.

As much as I want Alexis to return, I really hope we don’t rush him back and end up causing him further hassle. That’s the last thing we need and the man deserves a rest, whether he wants to or not.

I hope he’s soaking up the heat, resting and eating good food while away in Chile and getting the mini-holiday he didn’t really get over the summer.

Rest up, Alexis.
