Mesut Ozil has stated that he wants to stay with Arsenal.

His statement, however, comes with a caveat, but that’s just usual football speak.

Honest.

Speaking to the Turkish paper Fanatik, the playmaker, who has been Arsenal’s top player in the last seven games (yes, top), said

“I want to stay, I have a three-year contract with Arsenal however, anything can happen in football.

“We [Arsenal] will battle to the very end in the Premier League.”

We’ve covered Ozil extensively lately, mostly trying to rectify the mistaken view that many hold that he’s a lazy player who’s ineffective and not worth his price tag.

When you find yourself in a conversation with someone who holds that view, you’re really best just walking away from them.

It’s clear they don’t understand football and take their options from parts of the media who are paid to be experts but actually embarrass themselves regularly with their lack of understanding of the game.

It’s funny how, after he was so effective against Manchester United that some people have started to come around to him – especially as he looked no different at Old Trafford than he has done for the majority of the season.

People see what they want.

It’s called confirmation bias.

mesut ozil why so stupid
