According to a report from Spain, Villareal are keen to take Joel Campbell during this transfer window.

The report, which is far from substantial, gives very few details regarding their interest but they do specify that the deal would be for a loan rather than a permanent deal.

In fact, the entire report, which appeared in the Paper AS, said:

The Yellow Submarine seeks to reinforce its front and is set on Joel Campbell, who has no minutes with Arsenal and Wenger. Come on loan, although Real Sociedad also follows him.

Real Sociedad have already been in touch, as have a number of other clubs including Stoke in the Premier League but after having let Lukas Podolski leave to play for Inter Milan due to the German’s frustrations and Yaya Sanogo set to leave if Arsenal can find a suitable arrangement, it would be highly unlikely that Arsenal would allow a third forward to leave.

That being said, it is being claimed that the Gunners will be offering Campbell a new deal in order to protect their investment after which they might consider sending him out.

His current Arsenal deal expires in 2016.

Campbell himself spoke to the media in Costa Rica at length about his appearance in the FA Cup against Hull. You can read that interview here.
