Danny Welbeck faces a late fitness test ahead of Arsenal’s game against Stoke on Sunday.

The forward, who has missed the last two games with a thigh strain, has not been involved in training with the side since he was injured so is a major doubt although he has not been ruled out of the game completely.

As we’ve been reporting for the last week or more, Mesut Ozil is set to make his long-awaited comeback against the Orcs.

Out for three months since he picked up a knee injury at Stamford Bridge in October, he will be a welcome addition.

Aaron Ramsey is also closing in on a comeback but, like Danny should undergo a fitness test as he hasn’t returned to full training either.

Mikel Arteta is set to be out for a little while longer but Mathieu Flamini will return although whether Arsene Wenger opts to replace Francis Coquelin who has performed well remains to be seen.

Joel Campbell, who limped off during the game against Hull on Sunday was only suffering from cramp and will be available, as will Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who picked up a nasty knee knock after a clash of caps.

Olivier Giroud will also be available after serving his three-game suspension for being stupid against QPR on Boxing Day.
