After moaning recently about Garth Crooks Team of the Week because he wasn’t picking Arsenal players, this week I’m going to complain because he did.

Following his summer move from Valencia, plenty of people were intrigued to see how Shkodran Mustafi would settle into the Arsenal side, especially given the lack of defensive stability in that position for a number of years due to troublesome injuries and a lack of consistency when Koscielny-Mertesacker don’t start.

Shkodran Mustafi recently told Arsenal Player just how much having fellow German, Per Mertesacker, at the club has helped him during his half-a-season in north London.

Shkodran Mustafi may have only arrived at Arsenal, but he’s hoping that Arsene Wenger renews his Arsenal contract and stays at the club.

Since an unforgettable Premier League debut at Anfield in August of 2010, which saw him sent off in second-half stoppage time, Laurent Koscielny hasn’t had an easy journey to success for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is hopeful that Olivier Giroud’s ankle injury isn’t too serious as he’s assessed by the doctors.

If such things can be quantified, then this week has certainly been a lot better than the week that went before.
