Martin Keown highlighted where Arsenal went wrong against Manchester United on Sunday.

The former Gunner slated the entire team’s defending, particularly the midfielder who just didn’t appear to be bothered in the slightest about helping out with their defensive duties.

Match after match we’re making defensive blunders and considering we’ve rotated players and are still making the same mistakes, you have to look towards Arsene Wenger to sort them out. If all our players, no matter where they play, are acting or failing to react in a certain way, it’s his job to rally the troops.

Against Manchester United, all three goals we conceded were down to poor decision making, not remaining switched on and not defending correctly.

Keown even admitted he felt sorry for Francis Coquelin at one point who does recognise his duties but can only do so much if the players around him aren’t co-operating.

“For the second I feel sorry for Francis Coquelin,” he said in a piece for the Daily Mail.

“He gave the ball away but he knows his defensive responsibilities and tried to recover. Meanwhile, his midfield team-mates were not interested in defending. Then when the ball was hooked back in, nobody was marking Rashford.”
