Italian agent Venzo Clamassi has criticised at Mesut Özil and suggested that Juventus don’t aim to replace Arturo Vidal with the German.
Vidal is off to Germany himself, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich expected to complete a move for the Chilean this week.
Now the Italian champions will be looking for a replacement for the 28 year-old and Calamassi, who is registered as an agent with FIFA, thinks Juventus have far better options than pursuing Özil.
“€35M plus bonuses is an ideal offer to sell Vidal,” Clamassi told Il Sussidiario.net.
“Götze? He would play behind the strikers, a role that Allegri knows how to enhance. Personally I really appreciate the German.”
But the agent doesn’t appreciate Arsenal’s German, who has been linked with a move to the Old Lady.
“Özil? I am not convinced at all. With Real Madrid and the German national team he has done great things, but since joining Arsenal his level seems to have fallen a bit. Oscar? He’s a great player, but he is unattainable. Chelsea paid so much for him, and will not cede to a lower figure. Pity, I could see him fit well in the role which was Pirlo’s.”
If Juventus were to seek a creative player Özil would be head and shoulders above the other suggestions, while Oscar does not usually play in the deep role that Andrea Pirlo made his own.
Regardless, Mesut is going anywhere. It is a real shame that more people don’t appreciate just how talented the Arsenal star is, the incredible influence that he has, but maybe we’re lucky for that.
If nobody else wants Mesut Özil it only ensures that we get to watch him for years to come. That is no bad thing.
